    NASD OTC Market Declines to N1.01 Trillion

    NASD OTC Market Declines to N1.01 Trillion

    NASD over-the-counter (OTC) market for unlisted companies stocks traded on bearish note in the just concluded week, entire market capitalisation inched lower to N1.01 trillion, after shedding more than N17 billion. 

    Consequently, the NASD OTC Securities Exchange Index (NSI) closed the week with a negative movement on the NSI.  In the week, the NSI return decreased by 1.66% to close the week at 767.28 points against 780.25, according to market data.

    Traders said the NASD Investors lose ₦17.05 billion while market capitalisation closed at ₦1.01 trillion compared to ₦1.03 Trillion previously due to negative movement in prices.

    There was a 219.30% increase in the total value traded during the week as investors’ trade a total of ₦476,118,279.3 in value compared to ₦149,113,474.62 in the previous week. Meanwhile, total trade activity for the year is valued at ₦17,152,156,535.98.

    Total volume traded during the week was 12,817,631 units compared to 4,467,166 units in the previous week leading to a 186.93% increase in trade volume compared to week 15. The total volume traded for the year is 3,026,039,938 units.

    Trading data shows that the OTC market closed with Food Concepts PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by volume and 11 PLC as the fifth most traded stock by volume traded in the week.

    Niger Delta Exploration & Production PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by value and NIPCO PLC stood as the fifth most traded Security by value for the week. No companies traded in the OTC market advanced as the bears controlled the market.

    Afriland Properties PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦1.37 billion closed the week at ₦1.00 representing a 7.41 percent decrease from the previous close of ₦1.08

    Food Concepts PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦4.38 billion closed the week at ₦0.75 representing a 7.41 percent decrease from the previous close of ₦0.81

    Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦181.55 billion closed the week at ₦185.96 representing a 7.02 percent decrease from the previous close of ₦200.00

    11 PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦72.11 billion closed the week at ₦200.00 representing a 3.85 percent decrease from the previous close of ₦208.00.

    NASD OTC Securities Exchange Market closed on a positive note year to date as the market recorded an increase in performance.

    Overall, NASD Security Index Year-to-date returns increased by 3.29%, total volume traded year-to-date stands at 3,026,039,938 units in 846 deals and the total value traded printed at ₦17,152,156,535.98. #NASD OTC Market Declines to N1.01 Trillion
