Hedera Slips as Thin Volume Exposes Weak Buyer Conviction
Hedera (HBAR) fell 1.59% to $0.0673 over 24 hours, underperforming a flat crypto market as buying interest dried up. The drop looks less like a reaction to bad news and more like a market with too few buyers.
Volume tells the story
HBAR’s 24-hour trading volume fell 48% to $29.5 million, which implies roughly $56.7 million a day earlier (my calculation from the reported figures). With Bitcoin nearly unchanged, thin liquidity meant even modest selling was enough to push the price lower.
There was no panic and no clear negative catalyst, only a lack of aggressive bids. The decline looks isolated and flow-driven rather than part of a wider shift in sentiment. For momentum to turn, analysts say volume would need to rise above $40 million.
Key levels
HBAR is compressing between support at $0.0666 to $0.0660 and resistance at $0.0688 to $0.0692. The current price sits about 1% above the top of the support zone and about 2.8% below the upper resistance level (my calculation).
The technical structure is neutral to bearish until buyers reclaim higher levels. A daily close above $0.0692 would signal that a short-term recovery is under way.
ETF flows offer a counterpoint
Institutional flows were mixed across the altcoin space. US-listed altcoin ETFs recorded about $16.8 million in net outflows during the week, led by Zcash and including Solana and Avalanche funds.
Hedera was a notable exception. Canary’s HBAR ETF drew about $278,000 in net inflows for a second consecutive session, taking cumulative net inflows to roughly $116.7 million. The daily amounts are small, but the steady inflows contrast with the outflows elsewhere.
Catalyst ahead
The mainnet launch of Prism Market Labs, scheduled for next Friday, could serve as a positive catalyst for the network. Until it arrives, HBAR’s dip appears to stem from low-volume drift in a cautious altcoin environment, with no evident panic or single trigger.
