XRP at $1.40 as Ripple Offers Swap Financing, Partners Meritz Securities

Ripple (XRP) price hovered at $1.40 over the last 24 hours in its fresh foray into Wall Street, while Teucrium’s 2x Short Daily XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) delay has dampened investor optimism.

In its latest development, Ripple is offering swap financing for leveraged ETFs through its prime brokerage arm, Ripple Prime, deepening its presence on Wall Street.

The firm is earning financing fees, including roughly an 8% annualised rate from the Tradr 2X Long SNDK Daily ETF, and collecting daily swap spreads on products that systematically lag their benchmarks.

Ripple Prime — built after Ripple’s $1.25 billion acquisition of Hidden Road in 2025 — works with several ETF providers and recently expanded a partnership with Brevan Howard to offer multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing.

Tighter bank capital and risk rules have opened this market to nonbanks such as Jane Street and Clear Street. Boosting investors’ optimism, Meritz Securities signed a strategic partnership with Ripple to explore bringing institutional digital asset custody and tokenisation infrastructure to South Korea’s capital markets.

The agreement was signed at Meritz’s Yeouido headquarters and disclosed on Oct. 7. Initial work will remain within the scope of activities permitted under current securities regulations.

Areas under consideration include spot crypto ETFs, fractional investment products, tokenised securities, trading platforms and won-denominated stablecoins. Meritz has not announced any specific product or launch date.

Meritz and Ripple will examine how infrastructure used by financial institutions overseas could be applied in Korea. Ripple has recently partnered with SettleMint (Sept.), tested government bond settlement with Kyobo Life, and deployed custody with Absa in South Africa.

South Korea’s security token amendments take effect Feb. 4, 2027. Ripple will explore with Meritz how its digital asset infrastructure could support the continued development of Korea’s capital markets. Meanwhile, the XRP Ledger mainnet is scheduled to implement its Batch V1.1 upgrade.

This feature allows multiple transactions from different accounts to execute atomically within a single ledger close, providing a technical foundation for complex financial operations such as multi-party reconciliations.

The launch follows a two-week consensus period where over 80% of trusted validators must support the change.

This is a neutral-to-bullish technical milestone for XRP because it enhances the ledger’s capability for institutional-grade applications, potentially increasing utility and developer interest without directly impacting short-term price.

The effective date for Teucrium’s 2x Short Daily XRP ETF registration statement has been postponed to October 11, 2026.

This product aims to deliver double the inverse of XRP’s daily performance. The delay is a procedural step in the SEC review process and does not indicate a rejection.

This is a neutral development for XRP as it signifies continued regulatory engagement for sophisticated financial products tied to the asset, expanding the investment toolkit available to institutions and potentially increasing market depth over time.
