XRP Climbs Ahead of Digital Asset Market Clarity Act Vote

Ripple (XRP) price inched up 0.77% to $1.38 on Monday ahead of the CLARITY Act, slightly outperforming a flat broader market, driven by steady institutional demand and positive ecosystem narratives.

XRP price reacted to increased institutional demand via exchange-traded funds (ETFs). U.S. spot XRP ETFs have seen persistent net inflows, cumulatively reaching approximately $1.70 billion.

Furthermore, recent SEC filings show XRP ETFs are increasingly being used as repo collateral, signalling rising institutional trust and integration into traditional finance.

This provides a fundamental bid for XRP, differentiating its price action from pure speculative altcoins.  Weekly ETF flow data and any new announcements regarding institutional adoption of XRP for lending or collateral.

Price action shows a bounce from the key Fibonacci 78.6% retracement level near $1.34, which aligns with recent swing lows. The move is confirmed by a significant 62% increase in 24-hour trading volume to $1.6 billion, indicating fresh capital entered the market.

The volume-backed bounce suggests the sell-off was exhausted, attracting buyers at perceived value.  A sustained close above the 7-day simple moving average at $1.36 would confirm short-term bullish momentum.

The immediate trend hinges on macro events and regulatory news. The Federal Reserve’s upcoming rate decision could impact liquidity, while progress on the CLARITY Act remains a key sentiment driver for XRP.

The key range is support at $1.34–$1.36 versus resistance at $1.41.  The environment is cautiously optimistic but dependent on external catalysts.  Price reaction to the $1.41 level: a rejection there could lead to renewed consolidation within the current range.

The combination of institutional accumulation and a technically valid bounce creates a foundation for further gains, provided broader market conditions remain stable.

The U.S. Senate is scheduled for a September 15 cloture vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. This procedural step requires 60 votes to advance debate on the bill, which aims to establish a federal market structure and clarify regulatory roles between the SEC and CFTC.

For XRP, which was classified as a digital commodity after its legal battle, codifying this status into law would provide lasting regulatory certainty. This is a pivotal bullish catalyst for XRP because passage would solidify its non-security status, reducing long-term regulatory risk for institutions.

However, a failed vote could trigger short-term selling pressure, with analysis suggesting a potential 7-10% drop to the $1.20-$1.25 range if the broader market remains stable. Ripple’s CEO Sees XRP Hitting $10trn Market Cap
