SK Hynix Tokenised bStocks Up on AI Memory Expansion Bets
South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix Tokenised bStocks (SKHYB) price inched up 2.06% to $161.59, moving independently as the broader crypto market fell 2.51%.
This appears to be driven primarily by modest buying interest in a thin, low-liquidity market. The price increased on low volume in a thin market, where limited sell-side liquidity amplified the impact of modest buy orders.
SK hynix has broken ground on a more than $4 billion advanced packaging facility in Indiana that will serve as its first U.S. production base for next-generation high-bandwidth memory.
The company said Friday it held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday at Purdue University’s Holloway Gymnasium in West Lafayette, Ind., for the advanced packaging facility for artificial intelligence memory.
SK hynix plans to complete the plant’s cleanroom in October 2028 and begin mass production of next-generation HBM products in the second half of 2029.
Down by about 1.3% over the last seven trading sessions, SKHYB has delivered a positive 33.31% return in the market over the last 30 days.
SK Hynix’s price rose 2.06% on a 24h trading volume of just $9.67 million, which itself fell 29.42%. The token’s turnover ratio of 0.289 indicates a relatively illiquid market, where even small orders can move the price significantly.
The move lacks the high-volume conviction typically seen with major catalysts, suggesting it may be driven by localised buying rather than broad market interest.
Traders said without an identifiable catalyst, the price action is best interpreted as a minor, liquidity-sensitive fluctuation.
The token faces a key test at the $160–$162 zone. Holding above $160 could see a retest of higher levels, but the declining volume is a concern. The next significant move will likely depend on whether spot buying volume increases.
The short-term bias is neutral, leaning toward consolidation, unless a fundamental driver emerges. A sustained increase in 24h volume above $10 million would confirm any continued upward momentum.
The price increase appears to be a low-conviction move in a thin market, lacking a clear fundamental catalyst. SK Hynix has recently unveiled a monumental commitment to spend roughly $720 billion through 2034 to construct the world’s largest memory manufacturing complex.
This unprecedented buildout, featuring a vertical fab rising as high as a 50-story residential building, aims to triple the company’s high-bandwidth memory (HBM) production capacity.
