Nigeria’s Economy Grows by 3.98% in Q3-2025
Nigeria’s economy, measured by gross domestic product (GDP), grew by 3.98% in the third quarter of 2025 as both the oil and non-oil sectors scaled by 5.84% and 3.91% year on year, respectively.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Nigeria’s economy grew by 3.98% year on year in Q3-2025, down from 4.23% year on year in Q2-2025.
The growth outturn is 8 bps higher than Cordros’ estimate of 3.90%. Based on the GDP breakdown provided, the oil sector growth eased to 5.84% in Q3.
According to the statistics office, aggregate crude oil production averaged 1.64 million barrels per day (mbpd) in Q3-2025, which is 11.6% higher than 1.47 mbpd. Q3-2024.
In addition, the oil sector contributed 3.44% to the total GDP during the review period. On the other hand, the non-oil sector expanded further by 3.91% in Q3-2025, against +3.64% reported in Q2-2025, while it contributed 96.56% to the total GDP. It had contributed 95.95% in Q2-2025.
Breaking it further, Agriculture GDP grew higher by 3.79%, Services GDP advanced by 4.15%, while Industries GDP grew slowly by 3.77% year on year from 7.46% in Q2.
