    Kano Approves N7.7bn for infrastructure Development Projects

    The Kano State Executive Council has approved over N7.7billion for the execution of various infrastructure development projects across the state.

    This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin Tofa, in Kano on Saturday.

    He said that the decision was reached during its 21st meeting presided over by the Gov. Abba Yusuf.

    According to the Commissioner for Information, Baba Dantiye, the approved funds will be allocated to several projects.

    ‘He listed the projects to include over N1.89billion approved for the construction of the Tudun Yola off Gwarzo Road to Dansudu Bypass in Ungogo Local Government Area.

    He also stated that about N1.84 billion was earmarked for the review rates for the expansion of Zaria Road stretches from Silver Jubilee to Dantata and Sawoe axis.

    According to Dantiye, N1 billion was set aside for the upward review of the contract for the underground electrification of the Kwankwasiyya City project.

    He added,” N599.64 million was approved for the installation of solar-powered streetlights at the five kilometers dualised road in Gezawa Local Government Area.

    ”Other projects that received approval included the construction of Rijiyar Lemon Road network, rehabilitation of Eastern Bypass, and maintenance work at Airport Road.
