NASD OTC Rises N3.4 bln as NIPCO, CSCS Rally

In the last five trading sessions on NASD OTC Securities Exchange for unquoted companies stocks, investors gained about N3.4 trillion as the index closed positive for the second week in the New Year. 

According to trading data, the NASD Security Index (NSI) return increased by 0.53% to close the week at 750.02 points against 746.03 on Friday, January 7, 2022.

In sum, investors wealth inched higher by ₦3.38 billion as NASD OTC market capitalization closed at ₦635.10 billion compared to ₦631.72 billion in the previous week. Market data indicates that there was a 1272.87% increase in the total value traded during the week, as NASD Investors trade a total of ₦32,962,694.30 in value.

This translates to higher trading activities when compared to ₦2,401,006 in the previous week. Meanwhile, total trade activity for the year is valued at ₦35,363,700.30.

Trading data shows that the total volume transacted during the week was 1,057,091 units compared to 56,947 units in the previous week leading to a 1756.27% increase in trade volume compared to the first week. Meanwhile, the total volume traded for the year hits 1,114,038 units.

The week closed with Central Securities Clearing System Plc ranking top among the three most traded securities by volume and 11 Plc as the third most traded stock by volume traded in the week.

Also, Central Securities Clearing System Plc ranked top among the three most traded securities by value and Nipco Plc stood as the third most traded Security by value for the week.

NASD trading data shows that Nipco Plc, which currently holds a market capitalization of ₦12.94 billion closed the week at ₦69.00 representing a 9.52 per cent increase from the previous close of ₦63.00.

Central Securities Clearing System Plc, which currently holds a market capitalization of ₦100.00 billion closed the week at ₦20.00 representing a 4.99 per cent increase from the previous close of ₦19.05.

Also among the top gainers, Niger Delta Exploration & Production Plc, which currently holds a market capitalization of ₦43.17 billion closed the week at ₦238.00 representing a 1.06 per cent increase from the previous close of ₦235.50.

On the other hand, 11 Plc, which currently holds a market capitalization of ₦75.00 billion closed the week at ₦215.00 representing a 3.26 per cent decrease from the previous close of ₦208.00.

Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria Plc, with a market capitalisation of ₦115.20 Billion closed the week at ₦118.43 representing a 0.36 per cent decrease from the previous close of ₦118.00. Year to date, the NASD OTC Securities Exchange market closed the week on a positive note as the market recorded an increase in performance.

NASD Security Index year-to-date returns increased by 0.97%. total volume traded year-to-date stands at 1,114,038 units in 65 deals and the total value traded is ₦35,363,700.30, according to trading data. #NASD OTC Rises N3.4 bln as NIPCO, CSCS Rally
