NASD Dips as Friesland Campina, UBN, CitiTrust Depreciate

NASD Securities Exchange investors net worth has declined by about 4% from the opening investment value reported early in the year due to adverse price movement in the over-the-counter market.

Trading data from the over-the-counter market indicates that as of Friday’s close, the year-to-date return of the NASD Security Index was 3.78% below its opening market valuation in 2022.

In the just concluded week, the NASD OTC Securities Exchange Index also closed negative as market return decreased by 0.77% to close at 714.80 points against 720.36 from the previous week.

Specifically, NASD Investors lost ₦9.05 billion value as market capitalisation printed at ₦939.25 billion from ₦948.30 billion in the previous close due to negative price movement.

Traders said there was 888.89% increase in the total value traded last week. Data showed that NASD Investors traded a total of ₦139,119,400.00 in value compared to ₦14,068,239.87 in the previous week.

Hence, total trade activity for the year inched to ₦ 27,373,741,881.27 while total volume traded printed at 234,895,539 units compared to 341,550 units in the previous week.

The total volume traded for the year is 3,722,400,896 units, traders said. In the just concluded week, Lighthouse Financial Services Plc ranked top among the five most traded securities by volume and Central Securities Clearing System Plc as the fifth most traded stock by volume traded in the week.

Also, Lighthouse Financial Services Plc ranked top among the five most traded securities by value and NIPCO Plc stood as the fifth most traded Security by value for the week.

Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria Plc, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦64.84 billion closed the week at ₦66.42 representing a 5.05 percent decrease from the previous close of ₦69.95.

At a market capitalisation of ₦5.51 billion, UBN Property Plc closed the week at ₦1.01 representing a 2.97 percent decrease from the previous close of ₦0.98.

Cititrust Holdings Plc, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦13.25 billion closed the week at ₦13.25 representing a 1.85 percent decrease from the previous close of ₦13.50
