Micron Tokenised bStocks Down 5.4% on Memory-Chip Stocks Selloffs

Micron Technology Tokenised bStocks (MUB) price declined by 5.40% to $936.84 on Tuesday, significantly underperforming a slightly positive broader crypto market.

The drop is primarily driven by a sharp sell-off in the global semiconductor equity sector, sparked by renewed fears of competition from China.

The tokenised stock (MUB) tracks the price of Micron Technology Inc. (MU) shares, which fell sharply in traditional markets. This was part of a broad Asian tech sell-off on October 13, led by memory-chip makers SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics.

The catalyst was progress from Chinese memory-chip maker ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), raising fears of increased supply and competition in the high-margin DRAM and HBM markets crucial for AI servers.

MUB’s price action is tethered to traditional equity market dynamics for Micron, rather than to independent crypto factors.

In South Korea, SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics fell 10% and 7%, extending their losing streaks to five sessions; the two chipmakers account for more than half of the South Korean stock market’s total capitalisation.

The equity market volatility spilt into crypto derivatives. Over $800 million in leveraged positions were liquidated across exchanges, with notable activity in tokenised chip-stock perpetual futures.

Contracts for SanDisk and semiconductor ETFs saw heavy liquidations, indicating that leveraged bullish bets on the sector were forcibly closed, adding selling pressure to tokenised versions like MUB.

The crypto-trading venue for these assets amplified the downward move through a derivatives cascade. The outlook is tied to semiconductor equity performance. If sector fears deepen and MU shares break key support, MUB could test the $880–$900 range.

A recovery above $1,000 would require a stabilisation in chip stocks and positive macro cues from the upcoming U.S. inflation report. The trend is bearish in the short term, driven by traditional market sentiment.

MUB’s decline is a direct reflection of a risk-off move in tech equities, compounded by crypto leverage washouts. Its near-term path depends more on Wall Street and Asian chip stocks than on crypto-specific trends. NVIDIA Tokenised bStocks Slides on Bearish IMF Report
