Fidelity Bank Plc’s share price declined by about 7% to N20 as investors trimmed their holdings ahead of the first-half 2026 earnings release.

In the first half of 2026, Fidelity Bank Plc delivered an unimpressive earnings performance, with profit declining by 18.25% year-on-year to N74.471 billion from N91.101 billion in the comparable period.

Fidelit Bank’s share price depreciation suggests weak investor sentiment and a lack of pre-earnings bets, underscored by uncertainties in the Q2 2026 earnings outlook.

Trading data revealed that the tier-2 Nigerian lender experienced significant transaction volume and value last week, dragging its share price to N20.

The market anticipates the earnings release to drive a fresh re-rating for Fidelity Bank Plc, as the price has been capped below N22 for weeks.

At the close of the trading session, the market value of Fidelity Bank Plc’s 63.174 billion outstanding shares was down by 7% to N1.263 trillion.

The bank is trading at about 18% below its 52-week high on the Nigerian Exchange amidst a 40% upside projection.

In their stock market recommendation, analysts at Cowry Asset Limited set N28.70 as the target price for Fidelity Bank, with a reference price of N20 per share.

The investment firm expects N1.65 in earnings per share for the bank and advises investors to buy Fidelity Bank at the market price of N20, with the expectation that the Tier-2 bank will reach N28.70.
