Ecobank Partners Visa, Kenya Airways to Promote Cards

Ecobank Kenya has partnered with Visa and Kenya Airways (KQ) in a promotional campaign that will see customers get discounts on local and International flight ticket purchases made using Ecobank’s Prepaid and Virtual Visa cards.

Customers travelling via KQ to and from Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu will enjoy a 5% discount on their ticket purchases while those flying from Kenya to Ghana, Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia and South Africa will enjoy a 10% discount.

The campaign that kicked off in May follows the resumption of local flights after the government eased the Covid-19 restrictions early this year.

While commenting on the partnership, Ecobank Kenya Managing Director & Regional Executive for Central, Eastern and Southern Africa (CESA) Cheick Travaly said: “We understand that our customers have been through a lot in the recent past and this kind of partnership aim to not only promote our innovative products and services but also to extend to them some relief.”

The Ecobank Prepaid Visa cards can be accessed by customers and non-customers alike and are available in Kenya Shillings, USD and Euro. They can be used for travel, salary payment among other uses.

The innovative Ecobank Virtual Visa card is a payment card that is created on the Ecobank Mobile App and pre-loaded with funds for making online purchases and payments. As a security measure, the card is not directly linked to a customer’s bank account.

“As an airline, we need to continually innovate to provide our customers with a seamless travel experience. This is especially important to us due to the unprecedented changes that have affected the aviation industry and the travel process.
