Ecobank Gains as Investors Ramp Up Shares Ahead of Q3 Earnings

Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) shares surged by about 7% on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) as investors ramped up buying ahead of its third-quarter 2026 earnings release.

ETI bucked the bearish trend on the local bourse as equities analysts anticipate strong earnings for the group in the third quarter of 2026.

The Pan-African financial services company’s share price inched higher to N71.4 at the close of trading on Friday, up 6.6% as buy-side investors bolstered holdings in pre-earnings momentum.

The group’s fresh re-rating drove the market value of its 18.155 billion outstanding shares on the Nigerian Exchange to N1.296 trillion.

Equities analysts said Ecobank Group’s earnings will act as a catalyst for a fresh re-rating. The share price had hit a 52-week high of N97.40 before the momentum reversed.

Ecobank Group is preparing to release its third-quarter 2026 financial results on the Nigerian Exchange. The board announced plans to meet to deliberate on the group’s unaudited results and said its closed period began in Oct.

Meanwhile, Ecobank Transnational Inc. said in a disclosure that the group’s annual shareholders’ meeting is scheduled for Oct. 26. Banking System Surplus Liquidity Tops N6trn Ahead of Huge Inflows
