Amazon Delivers Impressive Earnings Performance in Q2

Amazon released its Q2 2026 results for the period ending June 30, 2026. The e-commerce and cloud giant showcased strong growth in both earnings and revenue, surpassing market expectations.

Earnings increased by 244% to $5.78 per share, compared to a consensus estimate of $2.30, while revenue rose by 20% to $200.6 billion, beating the expected $197 billion.

Broad-based demand fueled double-digit growth across all geographic regions, with Advertising showing notable momentum at a 26% year-over-year increase.

AWS (Amazon Web Services) experienced its fastest growth in 18 quarters, particularly driven by advancements in AI and the Chips sector, both achieving run rates of over $25 billion.

In its Stores segment, Amazon set record delivery speeds for Prime members, delivering over 40% more items on the same day or overnight in the first half of the year. The company’s commitment to profitability through cost discipline resulted in significant margin expansion.

Despite a positive increase in cash generated from operations, the liquidity position weakened due to substantial capital expenditure in AI. The company enhanced its AWS DevOps Agent capabilities and launched serverless infrastructure for AI that scales on demand.

Amazon continues to lead in the AI landscape, with aggressive infrastructure investments aimed at generating compounding returns in the medium to long term. Management has guided for double-digit growth in the next quarter, though this forecast is slightly below market consensus.

Currently, Amazon is trading at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 21.3, which is a discount to its long-term average. Given its market leadership, operational leverage, and exposure to long-term growth drivers, a positive long-term investment view on the stock is maintained. #Amazon Delivers Impressive Earnings Performance in Q2# Amazon CEO says AI to Reduce Number of Workers Needed
