Access Holdings Slips, Equity Analysts Estimate 40% Upside Potential

The market value of Access Holdings Plc’s 54.375 billion outstanding shares on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) slipped slightly to N1.549 trillion, 40% below the target price set by Cowry Asset Securities Limited.

The share price of Access Bank’s non-operating holding company closed at N28.5 on Friday amid strong trading volume, down from N29.50 at the beginning of last week.

Stockbrokers said Access Holdings’ share will open the new week at 20.83% below its 52-week high on the Nigerian Exchange, creating an opportunity for dip buyers, except for the group’s unattractive dividend policy.

MarketForces Africa found that a weak dividend history continues to limit the group’s stock market valuation and re-rating, despite driving significant transaction volume and value.

Investors seeking stable dividend payments remain bearish. The odds of strong dividend payments remain slim as the group’s earnings track record fluctuates below Tier-1 peers.

In its stock recommendation, investment firm Cowry Asset Securities Limited set a 40% upside potential for the financial services company’s stock.  Guiding buy, equities analysts set Access Holdings’ target price at N39.62, anticipating better earnings performance in 2026.

The investment firm estimated Access Holdings’ earnings per share to come in at N5.58, more than 40% above current earnings per share, according to the released stock recommendation report.

In the stock market trading record, Access Holdings’ 52-week high was N36, making the investment firm’s estimate an ambitious target. # Access Holdings Slips, Equity Analysts Set Target Price at N39.62 Nigerian Naira Softens Against US Dollar, Euro, British Pound
